Inclusivity and a Price Tag

Inclusivity and a Price Tag

Today we uploaded our new t-shirt line to our on-line store and noticed something was amiss. The larger sizes in the women's line cost more (some 16%) while the men's and unisex shirts in larger sizes (up to XXXL) remained at the same price.

We looked into this and discovered that there is a standard in place across most manufacturers to charge more for women's plus sizes. Some people have shared with us that well...it takes more fabric to make plus size apparel products but we think every woman should be treated the same regardless of her size. Manufactures should adjust their overall mark-up margin to reflect the highest cost product within that product line rather than charging one subset (of women) a higher price.

So with that said, we are officially reducing the cost of all products in our store today to be the same cost across all sizes. As we continue to educate ourselves and grow our product line, we hope manufacturers can learn and adapt as well.
